There is no cure.

Seriously, though, thanks for the feedback.

This reminds me... back in 2000, a friend forwarded me a n essay "Why I'm Not Voting for George W. Bush". It really required a response since much of what it had to say was complete nonsense (not that President Bush has turned out particularly good in many areas), but I composed and returned my counter-essay "Why I Am Voting for George W. Bush". Since I put some hours into it, I forwarded to a few other people and the response was very positive. My Dad had even printed it out and was passing it around to many impressed relatives. Maybe they need to get out more.

I guess my point, such as it is, that sitting down and spelling these things out is worth the effort, even if only a couple people see them. Most political talk is tiresome at best and an exercise in parallel tirades in most cases. If I can put out an occasional good idea in a clear and hopefully interesting way, I figure I'm doing something useful.ConceptJunkiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07574983838533038839noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35064676.post-1656205941616627472007-03-06T00:04:00.000-05:002007-03-06T00:04:00.000-05:00Pretty good article. Or rather, sort out the core principles, involving the bare necessities of good government, from the various secondary principles and corollary's. Those others can all be their own posts later. I am currently looking for like-minded cartoonists/illustrators that may be looking for an outlet for their "counterliberal" work(s).

Have you noticed how much publicity/exposoure political cartoons are enjoying at the moment?

Another area I want to incorporate into "counterliberalism" is some form of "remixing" current phrases used by "liberals" or popular quotations and turn them into "potent" "counterpoints".

An example would be:
"Resist the liberal(s) and they WILL flee from you!
(--based on a biblical verse)

Perhaps linking to or creating additional "Liberal watch" lists?

Do you know of anyone that would be interested in such "counterwork"?

I might add here that I believe the Conservative/liberal issue goes much deeper than the "political level" and therefore offers a new concept worthy of investing time and energy.

Any interest?

MarkAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35064676.post-9164783429489083532007-03-01T12:43:00.000-05:002007-03-01T12:43:00.000-05:00Both. I hadn't looked at the blog in a while and ...Both. I hadn't looked at the blog in a while and didn't see the comment to be moderated, Mark.

I have several posts half-written or in mind, but work and family and goofing off have been interfering with my ability to sit down and write.

I've done a bit of cartooning when I was a kid, and I do enjoy lots of artsy-craftsy stuff, especially on the computer. You might have noticed my Bender rendering from a couple months ago.

My biggest problem is that I tend to jump from project to project as my ADD-addled mind passes from one obsession to the next. :-/ I just finished a Sculpey bust of a giraffe, about 8 inches tall for my grandmother (who loves giraffes). My kids and I have been experimenting with Sculpey and Perler Beads a lot lately and we've done some neat stuff with them. I'm trying to figure out how do an intelligent color reduction so you can make Perler bead portraits.

I'll have to write about these things... yet another post that needs to be done. :-)

But thanks for the feedback. It's that kind of encouragement that caused me to start this thing in the first place.

RickConceptJunkiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07574983838533038839noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35064676.post-63636815748782653142007-02-23T23:16:00.000-05:002007-02-23T23:16:00.000-05:00Rick,Are you keeping comments out or are there jus...Rick,

Are you keeping comments out or are there just so few of us (Techies)that believe in the importance of conservatism?

I am experimenting with my new website. I am just getting it all in order and felt your page was a great one to add.

By the way, are you an illustrator or cartoonist by any chance?

mtbitner at gmail dot comAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
